Music, Movies, and Entertainment
All sorts of stuff here
to keep you amused for many hours.
This list barely scratches the
surface of what's available.
Each link will open in a new window -
close it to return here.
90FM
Classic Hits with the virtual breakfast show.
Fresh FM
Nelson's own Access/Community radio station.
TVNZ
Television New Zealand with their large site for TV1 and TV2.
TV3
TV3 also has a site, but a bit smaller than their main on-air
rivals.
Sky
TV
For those who have Sky TV, this is the company's site in the
Internet.
Radio New
Zealand
RNZ is the New Zealand Government funded station.
Fresh
FM
Nelson's own Access/Community radio station.
The
Planet FM
Another Nelson radio station.
IMDB
The Internet Movie Database would be the largest mine of information
on movies you could ever want - who stared in what movie? What movies
did such-and-such a director direct? Search by movie name,
star/director/producer etc. name.
Disney
Studios
One of the largest movie studios for animated movies.
Sony
Producers of music, TV shows and movies, electronics, Playstation,
and online games.
20th
Century Fox
Twentieth Century Fox is a film company that many would be familiar
with as it has been around for many years.
The
Oscars
Every year, Hollywood goes crazy patting itself on the back with the
Oscars. This site will tell you what the Academy is up to at the moment.
Milia
d'Or
The Cannes Film Festival is probably one of the best known (it is
certainly one of the oldest). Find out all about it here.
Yamama Game Servers
Locally run Neverwinter Server, Tribes 2 and Unreal
Tournament 2004. Good pings for dialup customers.
The X
Files
There are many sites for the X Files TV programme - this one is the
official site maintained by the producers of the show and is a mine of
information.
Star
Wars
The official site for the Star Wars films, including the yet to be
completed episodes 2 and 3. Many photos etc., and interesting articles
including downloadable movies on how certain sections were made.
The
HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy
I don't think the original radio series of Douglas Adams' best known
work ever found its way to New Zealand, but the later books and TV
series did. All sorts of fun to be had here while discovering more about
the Guide, best known for having (in softly glowing, calm, reassuring
lettering) DON'T PANIC on the case.
Get
Smart
The secret agent TV programme Get Smart finished fiming over 30
years ago but is still loved around the world today.
Monty
Python
Arguably one of the best known comedy teams ever assembled for TV
and film, this site is one of many to be found in the web about Monty
Pythons' Flying Circus. Loads of information, scripts, audio files,
photos etc. can be found here.
Discovery
Channel
A good site for the kids this - history and nature combined with
updates from those 'on expedition' all around the world.
NZSO
This site is the on line home of New Zealands' best known orchestra,
the NZ Symphony Orchestra.
Opera
Web
This site in Italy (but in English) has everything - storylines, the
works, for all your favourite operas. There is even an opera karaoke for
those who want to try singing some of the arias.
EMI
One of the largest producers of music in the world today. Note -
this is their Canadian site.
